Ducks on a stream

U. S. Fish & Wildlife Service

Mark Roberts from the U. S. Fish & Wildlife Service recently signed a new contract with the Wildlife For Everyone Endowment Foundation not to exceed over $250,000. The first check for $55,000 will create more wetlands and improve habitat and water quality for wildlife. This is the second contract signed by U. S. Fish & Wildlife Service and the Wildlife For Everyone Endowment Foundation.

The first contract was for stream and wetland restoration project on mined land in Northumberland County. More than 2,000 feet of stream was restored and more than three acres of wetlands were created. The site had been mined and disturbed also by industrial activity.

Land Donations

A generous gift of land from Sheila and Boyd Sponaugle of 20.1 acres in Upper Tulpehocken Township, Berks County was donated to the Wildlife For Everyone Endowment Foundation, who in turn will donate the land to the Pennsylvania Game Commission which will become part of Game Lands #110.

We announced in a previous newsletter that Waste Management in Morrisville donated 30 acres of land in Shade Township, Somerset County. The wetlands will become part of Game Lands #93 which is adjacent to the Flight 93 memorial. This donation will serve to protect land that was in the flight path of that heroic September 11th plane crash.
